Uniquely different: Hotel Steinbock in Pontresina

In ibex paradise

Around 1,800 animals love the grazing grounds on Piz Albris above Pontresina. Only in the spring does their appetite for fresh grass drive them down into the valley. A truly wonderful experience: suddenly, the kings of the Alps appear at the edge of the village, letting you admire them up close (at Hotel Steinbock you can even see them from your room window!).

And we have the perfect package for you. Enjoy, marvel and simply be!

About Steinbock

About Steinbock

Made for all generations

Opened in 1651, the Steinbock is the oldest inn in Pontresina. And yet it cannot be compared to any Engadin inn: the ground floor, redesigned in 2020, brings the magic of the Engadin mountains into the building. Fauna, flora and the colours of nature find their way into the open spaces. An artful play with local traditions, natural materials and tongue-in-cheek decoration creates a cosy sense of levity.

Family-owned for three generations, Hotel Steinbock is also managed personally by the Walther family. Here, family hospitality meets buoyant cosmopolitanism: spirited, sociable, contemporary – catering to all generations. Open eleven months a year, the relaxed 3-star Hotel Steinbock also offers its guests access to the amenities of the 4-star superior Hotel Walther ...
