1. Ibex paradise Pontresina
Beastly beautiful! Every year in spring, one of the largest ibex colonies in the Alps is attracted to the outskirts of Pontresina. Directly on the meadows above the Hotel Steinbock, the majestic animals graze on the lush grass. A unique experience. Learn more
2. Hut-Hopping
In the mood for mountain hut-hopping? Above Pontresina, on the lower Schafberg, a visit to the Munt da la Bês-cha mountain hut can be wonderfully combined with a little trip to the Chamanna Segantini. Here you can enjoy fine hut dishes in combination with a fantastic view.
3. Gateway to the South
The south within reach: From Pontresina, the UNESCO World Heritage railway line takes you to Tirano (Italy) and back. With gelati e caffè on the piazza, immerse yourself in the Italian atmosphere and round off the day at the Walther Trattoria.
4. Albigna Reservoir
Simply imposing: The gigantic Albigna dam serves to generate green electricity for the valley. Float up with the aerial cable car and marvel at a guided tour inside the dam. Thirsty? In 45 minutes you can hike to the Albigna hut.
5. Alpine brunch, please!
Enjoy the alpine brunch at the Morteratsch alpine show dairy. This wonderful place in the middle of nature is located near the Morteratsch railway station. With regional products, cheese and cakes, no wish remains unfulfilled. Daily 9:30 to 12:00 (except Monday).
